I tried everything you said, and on top the mic it says S/N N023500 and it won't work. You may get more help contacting Blue's support site if you haven't already. Other than that I am out of ideas, sorry. The other option is to purchase a powered USB hub and attach the USB cable from the mic to that. Plugging the TypeA plugs into two USB 2 ports would supply the necessary power. Purchase a two ended cable with the correct plug if the mic has a detachable USB cable. Two possible solutions and I can't say if they will work or not. It may be that the USB ports on your computer are not giving the necessary power that the mic is drawing. Have you tried this mic on another computer?

If the mic has a serial number that is above the one I posted or is a late model that is supposed to have Win8 support because some people have success with it and others do not I only have this to throw out. (Snowballs manufactured after January 2009 do not have serial numbers.) Snowball is plug-and-play and does not require drivers.

Older Snowballs manufactured from July 2007 to January 2009 with serial numbers lower than 76-065000 are not Windows 8, Windows 7 or Vista compatible. Yes, Snowball is currently Windows 8, Windows 7 and Vista compatible. Is the Snowball compatible with Windows 8, Windows 7, and Vista? Is the serial number on the mic higher than 76-065000? I don't think this is your issue but in the support site of Blue it said this. It's not the USB either, I changed the USB from the one that came with it to another one which I purchased. Using Windows 8, I dout this is the case since it has work on alot of Window's 8 users. Well the thing is that I plugged it in the back of my computer and it should be 2.0 so I tried many differentВ strategies. I know for a fact the it might be the USB 2.0 problem. What I did is uninstall it, unplugged it and plugged it back in and it still not working. but I'm not exactly sure if that's the case.
